Job description
A busy Level II Trauma Center and regional cardiac care facility in Arkansas is seeking multiple Emergency Medicine physicians for a long-term locum tenens opportunity. Providers will deliver comprehensive emergency care to patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Position Highlights
- Setting: Emergency Department
- Patient Volume: ~1.8 patients per hour
- Start Date: May 1
- Duration: 12 months
- Shifts: Days, evenings, and nights
- 6a–3p, 8a–6p, 10a–10p, 2p–12a, 6p–4a, 10p–6a
- Average Hours: ~130 hours/month
- EMR: Epic with Dragon dictation
Clinical Responsibilities
- Manage a broad spectrum of emergency cases
- Perform procedures including:
- Reductions, cardioversions, and moderate sedation
- Laceration repair
- Chest tubes, intubations, and central lines
- EKG interpretation and trauma care
- Collaborate closely with a supportive physician team on complex cases
Support & Resources
- Strong specialty backup including general surgery, cardiology/cath lab, neurology, neurosurgery, GI, OB/GYN, pediatrics, nephrology, and urology
- Highly trained nursing staff (ACLS, ATLS, PALS certified)
Compensation:
- Hourly: $275-290/hr
- Malpractice Coverage Provided
Requirements
- Active Arkansas license
- Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS, DEA
- Clean malpractice history
- NPDB self-query (within 30 days at submission)
