Overview:
A community hospital in Hamilton, New York is seeking an Emergency Medicine physician for ongoing locum tenens coverage. This is a lower-volume emergency department with consistent physician coverage and a supportive clinical environment.
The role is well-suited for physicians who are comfortable practicing independently and open to a mix of day and night shifts.

• Ongoing locums assignment
• 12-hour shifts (7a–7p, 7p–7a)
• Minimum 7 shifts/month required
• ~13,000 annual ED volume
• No trauma designation
• Epic EMR
• Travel & lodging fully covered (hotel nearby)
• No call requirement

Clinical Environment:
• Community hospital setting
• 24-hour physician-only coverage (no scribes)
• ~35 patients per day
• ~6% admission rate
• ~6% EMS volume
• Lower-acuity ED with some moderate complexity
• Independent practice environment — must be comfortable without extensive subspecialty backup

Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and manage emergency department patients
• Perform standard ED procedures as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic
• Collaborate with hospital staff for admissions and care coordination
• Provide coverage across both day and night shifts

Requirements:
• MD/DO – Board Certified or Board Eligible
• Emergency Medicine preferred
• Will consider IM or FM with at least 2 years of recent ED experience
• Active New York medical license required
• Active New York DEA required (must include Schedules 2–5)
• Certifications required:
• EM: ACLS, PALS (AHA)
• IM/FM: ACLS, PALS, ATLS (AHA)
• Must be willing to work both days and nights
• Must commit to minimum 7 shifts per month

• Competitive hourly rate: depending on experience
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage provided
• Open to negotiation based on experience and availability
