Overview:
A community hospital in Antigo, Wisconsin is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Emergency Medicine physician to provide ongoing locum tenens coverage in a low-volume, well-supported emergency department.
This role offers a balanced clinical environment with strong ancillary support, manageable patient volume, and flexible scheduling aligned to provider availability.

Position Highlights:
• Ongoing locums need
• 12-hour shifts (7a–7p, 7p–7a)
• ~11,000 annual ED volume (~33 PPD)
• No call requirement
• Travel & lodging covered
• Epic EMR
• Flexible scheduling based on availability

Clinical Environment:
• Community hospital, Level IV trauma center
• Stroke-certified facility
• 24/7 hospitalist support for admissions
• APP support during day/evening hours
• In-house CT, CTA, lab, respiratory services
• ~9–10% admission rate, ~4–5% transfers

Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and treat ED patients across varying acuity levels
• Perform procedures including intubations, central lines, chest tubes, LPs
• Utilize bedside ultrasound (FAST exams)
• Document encounters in Epic EMR
• Collaborate with hospitalists and support staff

Requirements:
• MD/DO – Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
• Active WI license, IMLC, or ACT 10 eligibility
• Active DEA
• ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS required
• Strong recent ED experience required
• Must be comfortable working independently in a community setting

• Competitive hourly rate (open bid, ~$270/hr range DOE)
