Job description
ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for ongoing locum coverage at a busy emergency department. The provider will work 12-hour shifts in a 17-bed ED with approximately 55–60 patient visits per day. The position requires consistent availability for at least 5 shifts per month over a 12+ month period, including nights and weekends.

Providers must be available for nights and weekends.
Job Details / Responsibilities

Provide emergency medical care in a 17-bed emergency department.

Manage approximately 55–60 patients per day (24-hour period).

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of acute and emergent conditions.

Work collaboratively with advanced practice providers (APPs) and emergency department staff.

Utilize MediTech EMR for patient documentation and clinical workflow.

Coordinate patient transfers when higher levels of care are needed.

Annual ED Volume: ~24,500–25,500 patients

Transfer Rate: ~4.94%
-
Common Transfer Destinations: Riverside, Grant, Genesis, OSU, and Aultman (OB)
Required Skills & Qualifications
Licensure & Certification
-
Board Certified (ABMS/AOA) in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine – required

Ohio Medical License required (IMLC accepted with LOQ within 3 business days of job acceptance)

BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
-
COVID-19 vaccination required
Experience
-
Minimum 2+ years of recent Emergency Medicine experience

Ability to manage high-volume emergency department environments

Experience working night and weekend shifts
Additional Requirements

Clean background and malpractice history required
-
Self-query NPDB report required at time of name clear

Candidates must be comfortable with patient transfers and working collaboratively with APPs.
