Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) – Locums - Central Louisiana

Critical Access ED | Flexible Shifts | May Start

Assignment Overview

  • Specialty: Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO)

  • Location: near Lafayette Airport – South Central LA

  • Start Date: May (ASAP)

  • Length of Need: Ongoing

  • Facility Type: Critical Access Hospital

  • ED Beds: 22

  • Annual ED Volume: ~25,000 visits

  • EMR: EPIC

Schedule

  • Day Shifts (9 hours):

    • 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

    • 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

    • 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

  • Night Shift (12 hours):

    • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

  • APP Coverage: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Practice Environment

  • Critical access emergency department with manageable patient volume

  • Approximately 8% admission/transfer rate

  • Most adult subspecialties available on-site except neurosurgery

  • Collaborative team with physician and APP support

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in:

    • Emergency Medicine

    • Family Medicine

    • Internal Medicine

  • Active state license or IMLC accepted

This is a flexible Emergency Medicine opportunity in a supportive critical access environment with reasonable patient volume and diverse shift options.
