Job description
ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine provider to support an Emergency Department on a locum or ongoing basis. The provider will deliver emergency care, manage patient admissions, and oversee Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in a moderate-volume ED setting. Candidates must be available for night and weekend shifts, with a minimum of 5 shifts per month (preferred 8–10) and availability for 12+ months.

Job Details / Responsibilities

Provide emergency medical care to patients presenting to the ED.

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries.

Supervise and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).

Write and manage admission orders for patients admitted from the ED.

Coordinate care with consulting specialists, including:
-
Radiology
-
Cardiology
-
Pulmonology
-
Gastroenterology
-
Urology
-
Hematology/Oncology
-

Stabilize and determine disposition of patients (admit, discharge, or transfer).

Follow ED protocols for patient triage and fast-track care when appropriate.

Ensure appropriate documentation in the Allscripts/Paragon EMR system.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Certification
-
Board Certified in Internal Medicine (IM) or Family Medicine (FM) through ABMS or AOA
-
ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
Licensure
-
Active Ohio medical license (IMLC accepted with proof of Letter of Qualification within 3 business days of acceptance)
Experience
-
Minimum 2+ years of recent Emergency Medicine experience

Ability to manage ED patient volumes and supervise APPs

NPDB self-query report required at time of name clear
