Job description
Physician urgent care provider needed for short-term locum tenens coverage at a freestanding emergency department. The provider will evaluate and manage ED patients across all shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, in a single-physician coverage model. This assignment supports the launch of a new facility and may require floating to other freestanding sites as needed. The provider will not be responsible for admitting orders and will work within a streamlined emergency medicine scope.
Job Responsibilities
• Coverage model: Single-physician coverage
• Trauma: No trauma designation
• APP coverage: None
• Admitting: No admitting orders required
• Start: ASAP
• Assignment length: Short-term
• Hours/week: Approx. 40 (varies by schedule)
Qualifications
• Emergency Medicine board certification/eligibility
• ABEM required
• If board-eligible: must obtain board certification within 5 years of training completion
• Active Florida license
• ATLS required (must be maintained)
Working Hours
• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Skills
• Ability to handle high patient volume with efficiency in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends
• Strong clinical decision-making and patient management capabilities
• Experience in a single-physician coverage model in an ED setting
