Alexandria, MN
Physician – Night Shift
Integrated Health System | Full-Time Benefits Eligible
Position Overview
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Typically 10–11 shifts per month
• Full-time benefit status
• Responsible for serving as the primary portal of entry for patients and services
• Diagnose and treat patients by evaluating presenting signs and symptoms
Essential Responsibilities
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and self
• Provide professional medical services and independent clinical judgment
• Order and prescribe appropriate treatments, diagnostic testing, and nursing care
• Prescribe medically appropriate pharmaceuticals
• Educate and counsel patients and families
• Refer patients to specialists and coordinate multidisciplinary care as needed
• Document care in the electronic medical record in a timely manner
• Assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes
• Collaborate in the education of medical professionals
• Adhere to medical ethics and professional standards

• Demonstrate proficiency with relevant medical equipment

• Foster respectful relationships with colleagues, patients, families, and the community
Required Qualifications
• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (must obtain certification within 2 years)
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Minnesota
• ABEM or ABOEM board certification preferred
• Will consider Family Medicine physicians with Emergency Medicine experience
• ACLS/ATLS/PALS not required if Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
