Exciting Locum Emergency Medicine opportunity in Lansing, Michigan at a busy Level III Trauma hospital with 40,000 annual ED visits. Join a well-supported emergency department with full nursing staff, 12 hours of daily APP coverage, and a fast-track unit managing 15% of ED volume.
This is a high-acuity, fast-paced ER environment managing approximately 110 patients per day, with strong hospitalist support for admissions. Ideal for ABEM or AOBEM Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physicians seeking flexible shift options and dynamic case diversity.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform trauma assessment and stabilization
• Manage airway and ventilation for up to 24 hours
• Interpret EKGs and diagnostic studies
• Perform procedures including central lines, arterial lines, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, arthrocentesis, I&D, and suturing
• Treat non-displaced fractures and minor orthopedic injuries
• Provide psychiatric emergency care (adult & pediatric uncomplicated cases)
• Supervise APPs and residents
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary hospital teams
• Document patient care using Cerner EMR
Qualifications
• Active Michigan Medical License
• BLS Certification
• Strong ED experience in high-volume settings
• Clean background for expedited credentialing
• Recent NPDB Self-Query
Working Hours
• Day, evening, night, and weekend coverage required
• Multiple shift options including:
o 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
o 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
o 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM
o 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM
o 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM
