Job description
Exciting Locum Emergency Medicine opportunity in Michigan for a Board-Certified physician seeking a fast-paced Emergency Department with flexible rotating shifts. This onsite role offers exposure to a steady patient volume in a well-supported hospital environment with full nursing, radiology, lab, and APP coverage.
Physicians manage approximately 80 patients per day across the department, averaging about 1.8 patients per hour. The ED utilizes Cerner EMR and provides comprehensive emergency services including trauma care, airway management, procedural sedation, and critical care stabilization.
Ideal for Emergency Medicine or experienced IM/FM physicians with strong recent ED experience looking for consistent scheduling and a collaborative team setting.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform emergency procedures including airway management and ventilation
• Manage trauma cases and stabilize critically ill patients
• Perform central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, paracentesis, and arthrocentesis
• Treat minor fractures, lacerations, and perform incision & drainage
• Interpret EKGs and diagnostic imaging
• Provide pediatric and adult emergency care
• Respond to emergency situations within the hospital as required
• Document patient encounters in Cerner EMR
Qualifications
• Active Michigan Medical License
• ACLS, BLS, PALS required
• ATLS as applicable
• Clean malpractice and background history
• Recent NPDB self-query
Working Hours
• Shift Options:
o 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
o 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
o 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
o 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• No Call
• Weekend shifts included
