Job description
Locum tenens Emergency Medicine opportunity in Northern Indiana at an acute care hospital with a medium-acuity Emergency Department. This site offers steady, lower-volume coverage with APC support. Physicians will provide 24-hour coverage in a collaborative MD/APC staffing environment.
Job Responsibilities
• Collaborate with APC providers
• Evaluate, treat, and manage ED patients
• Perform procedures within Emergency Medicine scope of practice
• Deliver efficient care in a medium-acuity setting
Qualifications
• ABEM/AOBEM preferred
• ABFM/ABIM accepted with Emergency Medicine experience
• ABPS Board accepted with additional certifications
• Emergency Medicine experience required for non-EM boarded physicians
Working Hours
• 12-hour shifts:
7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• APC coverage: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
• Ongoing locum coverage
Skills
• Medium-acuity case management
• Low-volume efficiency (1.5 PPH)
• Independent clinical decision-making
• APC collaboration within MD/APC staffing model
• Airway management & resuscitation
• Procedural competency within EM scope
• Neonatal resuscitation (NRP)
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR & Dragon dictation
