Join Our Dynamic Emergency Medicine Team as a Locum Physician in North Adams, MA

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician to provide vital healthcare services on a temporary basis at our esteemed medical facilities in North Adams, MA. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient care while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive compensation. Your expertise will ensure timely, high-quality care for a diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills:
  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine
  • Valid Massachusetts medical license
  • Proven experience in emergency department settings
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different hospital protocols and EMR systems (Meditech preferred)

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Previous experience working in Level 3 trauma centers
  • Familiarity with shifts of 8, 10, or 12 hours
  • Experience with provider float coverage
  • Knowledge of hospitalist and hospital protocols for admissions
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • At least 2 years of emergency medicine practice
  • Prior locum or temporary staffing experience is advantageous

Other Requirements:
  • Availability to work morning and night shifts, with flexibility for additional hours
  • Ability to cover shifts starting from March 2, 2026
  • Willingness to travel between Berkshire Medical Center and North Adams Hospital
  • Excellent response time for on-call duties (within 30 minutes)
  • Ability to monitor and supervise paramedics and ambulance radio operations
  • Credentialing expected to be completed promptly; temporary licensing assistance provided
  • Reimbursements available for travel, housing, and related expenses where applicable
  • Shifts vary from 8 to 12 hours, with scheduling tailored to best availability and MA licensure
