A high-volume Emergency Medicine locum tenens opportunity is available in North Adams, Massachusetts, with a strong need for morning and night coverage. Providers will float between two nearby facilities in a collaborative emergency department setting.

• Start Date: March 2, 2026

• Duration: Ongoing need

• Practice Setting: Hospital-based Emergency Department

• Trauma Level: Level III

• Highest Need: Morning and night shifts

• Shift Options Include:

  • 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

  • 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

  • 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

  • 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

  • 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

  • 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

• Physician Shift Lengths Available: 8, 11, and 12 hours

• Providers will float between two facilities

• Total ED Beds: 32

• Annual ED Volume: ~55,000 visits

• APP Coverage: Yes

• Admissions: Performed by hospitalist or admitting service

• ED Admission Rate: Approximately 30%

• ED Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and supervising paramedics/ambulance via radio

  • Deliveries sent directly to Labor & Delivery

• On-Call Physician Response Time: 30 minutes

• Meditech

• ABEM Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) – Required

• Active Massachusetts Medical License – Highly Preferred

  • MA-licensed providers will receive priority

• BLS, ACLS, ATLS – Required

• Clean background for quick credentialing – Required

• Local providers only (no flights) – Required
