We are seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in West Branch, Michigan. This role offers 24-hour emergency medicine shifts in a moderate-volume emergency department, supported by a full ED care team and modern clinical infrastructure.
The position is ideal for emergency physicians seeking consistent locum coverage, predictable workflows, and the opportunity to practice in a community-focused emergency setting. The emergency department utilizes Cerner EMR, supports fast-track services, and operates independently without inpatient admission responsibilities for the locum provider.
Job Responsibilities
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and emergent conditions
• Perform emergency medicine procedures as clinically indicated
• Stabilize patients and coordinate transfers when necessary
• Collaborate with ED nursing staff and ancillary services
• Utilize fast-track workflows for appropriate low-acuity cases
• Document all patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record
• Ensure compliance with emergency medicine best practices and clinical protocols
Qualifications
• OR Board Certified IM or FM with a minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Medicine experience
• Active Michigan medical license (required at time of submission)
• BLS certification
• Clean malpractice and background history for expedited credentialing
• NPDB self-query within required timeframe
• Ability to work independently in a free-standing emergency department
