We are seeking an experienced Locum Emergency Medicine Physician for an onsite hospital-based emergency department assignment in Bay City, Michigan. This opportunity is ideal for board-certified emergency physicians or IM/FM-trained physicians with recent ED experience who are seeking a locum tenens emergency medicine job in Michigan with consistent shift availability and strong clinical support.
The role offers exposure to a diverse patient population with a steady patient flow, advanced diagnostic resources, and a collaborative emergency department team. There is no on-call requirement, and coverage is provided through rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Job Responsibilities
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute illnesses and injuries
• Perform emergency medicine procedures including airway management and resuscitation
• Interpret EKGs, imaging, and laboratory results
• Manage trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies
• Collaborate with APPs, nursing staff, and ancillary services
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation using the electronic medical record
• Maintain compliance with emergency department protocols and quality standards
Qualifications
OR
• Board Certified IM or FM with a minimum of 2+ years of recent Emergency Department experience
• Active Michigan medical license (required at time of submission)
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• ATLS required for IM/FM physicians
• Clean professional background with no active restrictions
• Ability to work rotating shifts in a fast-paced emergency setting
Working Hours
• Shift options include:
o 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
o 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
o 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
o 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Weekend coverage included
• No call responsibilities
