Locum Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunities in MA!

ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician to provide locum coverage. This role focuses on high-demand morning and night shifts in a busy Level III trauma emergency department, with priority given to Massachusetts-licensed providers. The physician will work alongside APPs and hospitalist services in a well-supported clinical environment.

Dates / Scheduling

• Shift lengths available: 12-hour, 11-hour, and 8-hour shifts

• Greatest need: Morning and night shifts

• On-call response time required by bylaws: 30 minutes

• Estimated credentialing timeframe: Temporary privileges available
  

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Trauma Level: III

• Emergency Department Beds: 32

• Annual ED Volume: ~55,000 visits

• EMR System: Meditech

• Admissions handled by: Hospitalist or admitting service

• Code response: Not required

• APP coverage: Yes

• Approx. 30% of ED patients admitted daily

• Deliveries: Sent directly to Labor & Delivery

• ED physicians monitor/supervise paramedics and ambulance traffic by radio

Required Skills & Qualifications

• ABEM Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) – Required

• Active Massachusetts medical license – Highly preferred (priority given)

• BLS, ACLS, ATLS certifications – Required

• Clean background for expedited credentialing – Required

• Self-Query NPDB (within past 30 days) – Required at presentation

• Must provide clearly stated availability with name – Required
