Position Overview
A Board Eligible or Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician is sought to join a community-based emergency department serving a regional population.
Emergency Department Details
* Modern emergency department renovated and expanded in 2017
* 18 treatment beds
* Annual volume of approximately 16,000 visits
* Solo physician coverage with advanced practice provider support from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily
* Shift schedule:
* 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
* 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
* Brief overlap between shifts to ensure safe and effective handoffs
* Separate walk-in clinic located nearby, staffed by a nurse practitioner or physician assistant from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
* Strong specialty support available, including psychiatry
* Trauma team available and required to be on-site within 20 minutes
Qualifications
* MD or DO degree (U.S. medical degree or foreign equivalent)
* Board eligible or board certified
* Completion of a residency in:
* Emergency Medicine, or
* Family Medicine, or
* Internal Medicine/Pediatrics
* Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of Michigan
* Eligible for a Michigan Controlled Substance License
