Locum Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunities in Michigan!

ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a Locum Emergency Medicine physician to help cover PRN shifts due to a recruitment gap. This is a free-standing emergency department with full ED staff support and moderate patient volume, and providers will be part of a McLaren float pool with shifts distributed via email once accepted.

Dates / Schedule

• Coverage Type: PRN / Float Pool

• Reason for Coverage: Recruitment gap

• Scheduling: Open PRN shifts emailed after provider acceptance

• Orientation Rate: 50% of hourly rate

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Practice Setting: Free-standing Emergency Department

• ED Volume:

  • ~30 patients per day

  • Annual ER volume: ~9,000

• Facility Details:

  • 20 ED beds

  • Fast track available (staffed by MD; minimal utilization)

• Clinical Environment:

  • Full ED staff support

  • Hospitalists write admission orders

  • ED staff do not respond to house codes

• Admissions & Transfers:

  • 70% of total hospital admissions originate from the ED

  • ~1% of ED patients admitted daily

  • ~1% transferred daily

• Supervision: No supervision of other providers required

• EHR: Cerner

• Procedures: Standard Emergency Medicine procedures as outlined in practice description

• Timekeeping: Reverse billing required; providers must clock in/out using Doctime

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (required; no BE)

  • IM or FM physicians accepted with 2+ years of recent EM experience

• Active Michigan medical license (required at time of name clear; no IMLC)

• BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications (required)

• Local provider only (required; no exceptions)

• Clean background for expedited credentialing (required)

• NPDB self-query dated within 30 days of presentation (required)
