Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Locum Emergency Medicine Physician to provide exceptional care at a thriving hospital setting. As part of a Float Pool, you will fill PRN shifts, offering vital coverage during recruitment gaps. This role provides a diverse and stimulating environment with approximately 40,000 annual ER visits, full nursing staff, APP coverage, and advanced EHR systems. The position allows for flexible scheduling across various shifts, ensuring excellent work-life balance while delivering critical emergency services to a large patient volume.

Required Skills
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license in Michigan
  • Board-certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
  • Proven proficiency in Adult, Pediatric, and Geriatric outpatient care
  • Experience performing procedures such as suturing, incision & drainage, lumbar puncture, chest tube placement, arterial and central line insertion, and ventilation management
  • Strong skills in EKG interpretation, orthopedic fracture management, and common emergency procedures
  • Ability to supervise and collaborate effectively with APPs, residents, and other healthcare providers
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills

Nice to Have Skills
  • Prior experience in a Level III Trauma Center
  • Familiarity with Cerner EMR system
  • Experience in fast-track emergency services
  • Ability to handle industrial-related medical problems and complex acute cases
  • Multilingual communication skills

Preferred Education and Experience
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Minimum of 2 years of emergency medicine or urgent care experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Active Michigan medical license and DEA registration

Other Requirements
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends
  • Must clock in/out using DocTime; no timesheets will be approved
  • Malpractice insurance to be included in compensation rates
  • Compliance with all hospital policies and procedures, including orientation that is compensated at half the hourly rate

Compensation and Benefits
  • Hourly pay rate of $400/hour, with additional compensation for orientation, holidays, and overtime
  • Weekly pay via direct deposit
