Seeking a Locum Emergency Medicine Physician for PRN shift coverage starting March 1, 2026. This opportunity supports coverage during a recruitment gap in a high-volume emergency department. Providers will work onsite only, with no call responsibilities, and will be part of a float pool where open shifts are shared as they become available.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage high-volume emergency department encounters
• Perform a wide range of emergency medicine procedures
• Collaborate with APPs, nursing staff, radiology, and laboratory services
• Stabilize, treat, and determine disposition for ED patients
• Document all patient encounters using EMR
• Deliver efficient, patient-centered emergency care
Qualifications
o IM or FM physicians with 2+ years of recent ED experience will be considered
• Active Michigan Medical License at time of name clear (IMLC not accepted)
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS required
o ABEM/AOBEM candidates may substitute ATLS as applicable
• Local candidate required (no exceptions)
• Clean background for expedited credentialing
• NPDB Self-Query (pulled within 30 days of presentation)
• Required employee health and immunization documentation
Working Hours
• Typical shifts include:
o 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
o 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
o 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
o 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Weekend coverage required
• No on-call requirements
• Available shifts extend through June 2026

• Airway and ventilation management
• Central and arterial line placement
• EKG interpretation
• Minor procedures (suturing, I&D, fracture management)
• Psychiatric evaluation and stabilization
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
