Locum Emergency Medicine Physician

Seeking a Locum Emergency Medicine Physician to join its PRN Float Pool and provide onsite coverage due to a recruitment gap. Open PRN dates are shared via email once a provider is accepted.

Practice Setting & Volume

• Free-standing Emergency Department

• 20 ED beds

• Annual ED volume: ~9,000 visits

• Average patients per day: ~30

• EHR: Cerner

• Approximately 70% of hospital admissions originate from the ED

• Low admission and transfer rates

• Fast Track available, staffed by an MD

Staffing & Responsibilities

• Full ED staffing support

• No supervision of other providers required

• ED staff do not respond to house codes

• Hospitalists manage admission orders

Clinical Scope

• Standard Emergency Medicine procedures and skills as outlined in the practice description

• Care for a lower-volume ED with a broad but manageable acuity mix

Scheduling & Coverage Model

• PRN, onsite coverage only

• Emergency Medicine Float Pool

• Open dates extend on an ongoing basis

Provider Requirements

• Board Certified only (no BE)

• Open to Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine physicians with 2+ years of recent ED experience

• Active Michigan license required at time of name clear (IMLC not accepted)

• Local providers only

• Clean background required for expedited credentialing

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS

Credentialing & Onboarding

• Reverse billing site; providers must clock in/out via DocTime

• NPDB self-query within 30 days required at presentation

• Submission requires full contact details, DOB, license, certifications, and exact availability at name clear
