Job Opportunity: Locum Physician - Emergency Medicine in Mt Pleasant, MI
Join our dedicated team at a regional healthcare facility in Mt Pleasant, Michigan, where we prioritize community health and well-being. Our Emergency Department is seeking an experienced Locum Emergency Medicine physician to provide ongoing coverage. The facility is equipped with 18 beds and supports a patient volume of around 20,000 annually. With a team comprising full-time physicians, mid-level providers, and dedicated support staff, we ensure comprehensive care for our patients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide quality emergency medical care to patients in a fast-paced environment.
- Supervise mid-level providers during shifts.
- Participate in the referral and transfer protocol for patients needing specialized care.
- Respond to house codes and emergencies as required.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient medical records using the Cerner EHR system.
- Work collaboratively with hospitalists and consultants for patient admissions and care continuity.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Emergency Medicine or Family Practice with Emergency Room experience (minimum 2 years).
- Clean background for quick credentialing.
- Local candidates preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume environment.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Active Michigan Medical License.
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine or Family Practice.
- ATLS and PALS certifications (for non-EM boarded physicians).
- Verbal confirmation of DEA status.
- Recent NPDB self-query (within 30 days) at the time of presentation.
