Locums – Emergency Medicine - Sun City Center, Florida Start Date: ASAP Duration: Minimum 6 months Type: Emergency Department Coverage

Position Overview

• FTE Need: Equivalent of 6 FTEs

• Schedule: Must be flexible for days, nights, and weekends

• Locations: Main hospital and affiliated FSERs (freestanding EDs)

• Main hospital: May consider less than 12-hour shifts

• FSERs: Require 12-hour shifts

• Orientation: Administrative onboarding at main campus, shadow shift at main or assigned FSER(s), EMR training

• Setting: Hospital ED + FSERs

• Beds: 12 + 4 Fast Track

• Annual Census: ~22,000 visits

• Admissions: ~30%, primarily geriatric population

• Certified Stroke Center

  Clinical Expectations

  • Full-scope emergency medicine practice

  • Ability to flex between hospital ED and FSERs as needed

  • Work collaboratively with ED team to manage admissions and high geriatric patient volume

  Requirements

  • ABEM or ABOEM required for main campus

  • IM/FP accepted for FSERs with at least 500 EM cases in past 12 months

  • EM Residency training required

  • Active Florida medical license required

  • Board Certification required
