Emergency Department Coverage | Short-Term Assignment
A well-supported Emergency Department in central Michigan is seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens assignment. Physicians who are Board-Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with at least 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience will also be considered.
This is an excellent opportunity for local Michigan physicians seeking a short-term emergency medicine locums assignment with competitive compensation and full ED support.

Requirements

Active Michigan medical license at time of submission (IMLC not accepted)

Local Michigan providers only

Board Certified in Emergency Medicine OR BC IM/FM with 2+ years of recent ED experience

ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required

Clean background to support expedited credentialing
Emergency Department Job Details

Shift Length: 9–10 hour shifts (12-hour shifts possible)

Schedule: Weekends required

Call: None

Annual ED Volume: Approximately 29,000 visits

Patient Volume: ~1.8 patients per hour

EMR: Cerner
-
Support Staff: APP coverage, experienced nursing staff, ED techs, on-site radiology and laboratory services
Procedures & Scope of Practice

Standard Emergency Medicine procedures including:

Airway management
-
Central and peripheral line placement
-
Laceration repair
-
Incision and drainage
-
Orthopedic procedures
-
Lumbar punctures
-
Paracentesis
-
Other routine ED procedures

Compensation & Malpractice
-
Hourly Rate: Up to $300/hour

Malpractice: Occurrence-based malpractice coverage provided
Travel & Lodging

Mileage, vehicle, and fuel reimbursement
-
Lodging reimbursement up to $150 per night
