🚑 $310/hr: Locum Emergency Medicine Physician – Mt Pleasant, Michigan

Michigan is seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine physician with ER experience to provide locum coverage during an active recruitment gap. This is a high-volume community ED with strong hospitalist and specialty support.

• Annual ED Volume: ~20,000 visits

• Average Daily Patient Volume: ~54 patients

• ED Beds: 18

• Trauma Designation: Provisional Level IV

• Admissions from ED: ~90% of hospital admissions

• Transfers: ~2% daily

• EMR: Cerner

• Fast Track: No

👥 Staffing & Support

• 4 Full-Time Physicians + 1 PRN

• 1 Full-Time Midlevel + 2 PRN APPs

• Locum will supervise midlevel on duty

• Hospitalist team manages admissions and codes

• Anesthesia available for daytime airway backup

• Cardiology available for EKG interpretation

🩺 Clinical Responsibilities

• Emergency department coverage

• Respond to house codes (shared with hospitalists)

• Provide airway support when needed

• Limited admission orders only (bed requests/bridging orders)

• Oversight of EMS/ambulance radio communications

• Coordinate transfers to McLaren Bay, Lansing, or regional facilities

💰 Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $310/hour

• Orientation: $155hourly rate

• Overtime: 1.5×

📋 Requirements (ALL REQUIRED – No Exceptions)

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
  OR Family Medicine with 2+ years recent ER experience

• Active Michigan medical license (IMLC not accepted)

• Local provider only

• Clean background & malpractice history

• DEA (verbal confirmation at name clear)

• ATLS & PALS (required for non-EM boarded physicians)

• NPDB Self-Query (dated within the last month)

• Flu vaccine (2024–2025)

• COVID documentation or declination

• TB testing or Quantiferon

• Hep B, MMR, Varicella titers/vaccines

• TDAP (within last 10 years)
