Compensation for this opportunity is highly competitive, with an hourly pay rate of $7,488. The 24-hour shifts are paid at a daily maximum of $9,600. The orientation rate is half the hourly rate, and holiday pay is 1.5 times the regular rate. Required Skills:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) licensed to practice in Michigan
- Board-certified or Board-eligible in Emergency Medicine or equivalent specialty
- Proven experience in emergency medicine with proficiency in fast-paced, high-volume ER environments
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to comply with hospital policies and follow established clinical protocols
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record (EHR) system
- Prior locum or hospital emergency department experience in a similar setting
- Basic procedural skills such as airway management, suturing, and IV placement
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications up to date
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency medicine or urgent care
- Active Michigan medical license and DEA certification
Other Requirements:
- Mandatory compliance with all hospital and state/federal healthcare regulations
- Must have valid medical licensure, DEA, and board certification
- Ability to work 24-hour shifts, scheduled to start on January 2, 2026, with coverage through March 30, 2026
- No lodging arrangements included; candidates responsible for travel and accommodations within policy guidelines
- Malpractice insurance included in hourly rate, with orientation at half rate prior to shift deployment
