We are seeking a dedicated, Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. Overview
We are offering a rewarding locum position for an Emergency Medicine Physician at McLaren Central, with coverage needed from January 1, 2026, through January 31, 2026. The facility handles approximately 20,000 annual ED visits, with an average of 54 patients daily in an 18-bed emergency department. You will be responsible for supervising the midlevel provider on duty, responding to codes, and supporting hospital transfers and admissions within a multidisciplinary team. This role provides an excellent platform for seasoned physicians to contribute their expertise while enjoying a supportive work environment and attractive hourly compensation.

Required Skills
  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine
  • Current DEA and Michigan Medical Licensure
  • ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications preferred
  • Proven ability to handle high patient volumes efficiently
  • Strong clinical decision-making and leadership skills
  • Experience with Cerner EHR system preferred
  • Ability to respond promptly to hospital codes and emergencies

Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience supervising midlevel providers in an emergency setting
  • Prior work in a Level 4 Trauma center
  • Familiarity with transfer protocols and hospital liaison procedures
  • Bilingual skills or additional language competencies

Preferred Education and Experience
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of 3 years of emergency medicine experience
  • Prior locum or trauma center experience is advantageous

Other Requirements
  • Must complete credentialing within approximately 90 days
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, including 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and overnight 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. shifts, on a 7-day schedule
  • Travel and accommodation reimbursements according to established policies
  • Use of DocTime for clocking in/out; no timesheets required
