Locums Emergency Medicine Physician

A growing emergency department in Grand Ledge, MI is seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician to provide locum tenens coverage. This role offers flexible shift options, no call requirements, and the opportunity to support a developing ED with manageable patient volumes.

Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts available
• Weekend coverage options include 24-hour shifts or 12-hour shifts
  • Day: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Night: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• No on-call requirements

Facility & ED Details:

• Projected Annual ED Volume: ~15,000 visits
• Average Daily Volume:
  • ~20 patients/day during first 6 months
  • ~40 patients/day by the end of year one
    
    

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat emergency department patients across all acuity levels.
• Perform emergency procedures consistent with Emergency Medicine training.
• Manage trauma and acute medical cases in accordance with ATLS guidelines.
• Coordinate care with consultants and inpatient teams as needed.
• Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation in the facility’s EMR system.

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM only)
• Active Michigan medical license (or ability to obtain)
• ATLS certification required
• DEA registration required
• No Family Medicine or Internal Medicine candidates considered
