Locums – Chester, Montana, Emergency Department Medical Director Opening (IMLC Accepted)
Clinical Role: • Do you know someone that might be a good fit for this position? Please ask about our generous referral fees! • Start Date: ASAP – Ongoing Need • Seeking MD/DO to serve as Emergency Department Medical Director • On-site coverage minimum of 10 days per month • Preferred schedule: one week on / one week off (flexible to accommodate provider needs) • Call coverage required for the entire month • Includes Medical Directorship responsibilities
• Facility Type: Critical Access Hospital with long-term care facility on-site • Experience with critical access hospitals and swing bed programs strongly preferred • When on-site, provider will cover Emergency Department and Urgent Care • ER Shifts: 24-hour coverage • Urgent Care Shifts: 8:00am – 5:00pm • On-site housing provided
Administrative & Leadership Responsibilities: • Participation in Medical Staff and Provider meetings (approximately 2 hours per month) • Meetings may be attended on-site or virtually • Medical Director oversight of 4 APPs who cover remaining ER shifts • Facility administrator manages scheduling and administrative tasks
Clinical Volume & Call Details: • Patients Seen: 4–6 per day • Admissions: 1–3 per day • Phone Consults: 1–3 • Facility Size: 25 beds • Patient Coverage: Assigned and unassigned patients • Call Type: Beeper • Call Response Time: 20 minutes
Additional Details: • Trauma Level V • EMR: Cerner
Candidate Requirements: • Board Certified or Board Eligible – Required • Active Montana medical license – Required • IMLC Accepted • Fellowship training – Required • ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS – Required
