Emergency Medicine Opening - John Day, OR Located in beautiful Grant County, Oregon Position Details * Seeking a full-time MD or DO for a full-spectrum Emergency Medicine position * Critical Access Hospital/Surgery Clinic * Join a progressive rural health organization with an experienced medical staff including physicians, NPs, a general surgeon, and CRNAs * Provide immediate evaluation, diagnosis, stabilization, and treatment for urgent and emergent conditions * Perform emergency procedures including airway management, resuscitation, and trauma care * Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging * Collaborate with nursing, APPs, consultants, and ancillary staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care * Determine need for admission, discharge, transfer, or observation * Document all clinical encounters and procedures in the EMR in a timely and accurate manner * Participate in chart review, quality protocols, and on-call coverage as assigned * Maintain compliance with professional standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements Work Schedule * 8 Emergency Department shifts per month (schedule based on departmental needs) Qualifications * Licensed or eligible for licensure as an MD or DO in Oregon * Current or ability to obtain BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications * Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills * Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals across disciplines * Commitment to continued education and training Benefits Details * Competitive salary * Retirement plan with employer match * Paid vacation and holidays * Generous CME allowance * Signing bonus and relocation assistance * National Health Service Corps & internal loan repayment eligibility * Excellent work-life balance Community Details * Beautiful rural Oregon setting known for outdoor recreation, small-town charm, and a high quality of life * Affordable living, friendly community environment, and access to year-round outdoor activities About the Community: * Located in Grant County, Oregon, at the heart of the John Day River, in beautiful, rural, Eastern Oregon.
