Emergency Medicine Physician Job Details

• Location: Altoona, PA & Bedford, PA
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shifts: 10-hour shifts at Altoona (various start times: 6a-4p, 8a-6p, 11a-9p, 1p-11p, 3p-1a, 5p-3a, 9p-7a); 12-hour shifts at Bedford (7a-7p or 7p-7a)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Night Shifts: Must be willing to work night shifts as needed

Emergency Medicine Physician Qualifications

• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine Residency
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine or Osteopathic Emergency Medicine
• Current Stroke Certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience in emergency medicine
• Ability to work at both Altoona and Bedford, PA locations
• Comfortable with night and variable shifts

Emergency Medicine Physician Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive emergency care to patients in the Emergency Department
• Perform emergency procedures: intubations, chest tubes, central lines, joint and fracture reductions, joint aspirations, laceration repair, incision and drainage, and additional procedures within the scope of emergency medicine
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Adapt to varying shift times and locations as required
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all patient care activities
