Position Overview
We are seeking Board Certified Emergency Medicine physicians for ongoing locum coverage in the Emergency Department. This is a hands-on clinical role with full scope EM procedures and direct patient care.
Key Details
- Setting: Emergency Department (Outpatient)
- Shift Times:
- Physicians: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (Nights)
- APPs: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
- Annual Volume: ~40,000 visits
- Trauma Designation: Level III
- Beds in ED: 17
- Admission Rate: ~15%
- EMR: EPIC (all Mercy locations)
- Backup: None
- Consultants Available: Cardiology, Nephrology, Surgery, Podiatry, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Urology, Tele-Neurology, Hospitalist
Clinical Scope
Physicians will perform the usual Emergency Medicine procedures including:
- Central lines
- Intubations
- Other standard EM interventions
Requirements
- Must be Emergency Medicine residency trained
- Must be Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
- Family Medicine or Internal Medicine trained physicians are not accepted
- Current life support certifications required (ACLS, ATLS, PALS, etc.)
Compensation
- Rate: $215/hr (1099)
- Travel and lodging support available
