JOB OVERVIEW

  • Coverage Period: February 1, 2026 Ongoing
  • Clinical Shift Schedule: 12 or 24-hour shifts COVERAGE DATES

  • 6-month contract with potential extension
  • 1012 shifts per month

PATIENT INFORMATION
  • Patient Demographics: All ages
  • Patient Volume/Census: Annual ED volume approximately 5,500
  • Admissions: Included as needed
  • Case Mix: Emergency medicine across full age range

FACILITY INFORMATION
  • No. of Beds in Department: 25; 5 (EM beds)
  • EMR System: CPSI
  • Office Equipment Available: Standard emergency department equipment
  • Specialty Backup Available: Other specialty physicians available on-site
  • Support Staff Available: Registered nurses and specialty physicians

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
  • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
  • Credentialing Timeline: 4560 days

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Emergency medicine procedures consistent with rural critical access practice

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Licenses: Active West Virginia license/IMLC accepted
  • Board: ABEM preferred; ABFM or ABIM accepted with extensive EM experience
  • DEA: Required
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of emergency medicine experience
  • Other Qualifications: Ability to manage diverse emergency presentations in a rural critical access setting

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide comprehensive emergency medicine coverage for all age groups
  • Manage emergency cases consistent with a critical access hospital setting
  • Deliver safe and timely clinical care during 12- or 24-hour shifts
  • Maintain accurate documentation in CPSI EMR system
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and specialty physicians to provide coordinated care
