Join Our Team as an Emergency Medicine Physician – Make a Difference in Critical Care

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to provide exceptional care at a busy Critical Access Hospital. This vital role offers the opportunity to serve a diverse patient population across all ages in a fast-paced environment. With a focus on quality and compassion, you will work alongside supportive staff to deliver life-saving treatments and stabilize patients in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emergency medical care to an average of 5,500 patients annually
  • Manage patient care across all ages in a 25-bed hospital with a 5-bed emergency department
  • Support staff including registered nurses and specialty physicians
  • Cover 10 to 12 shifts per month, primarily scheduled during night hours (19:00 - 07:00)
  • Perform necessary procedures within your scope and maintain documentation using CPSI EMR
  • Collaborate in a high-stakes environment to deliver timely, effective treatment

Required Skills:
  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or Board Certified/Eligible in Family Medicine/Internal Medicine with extensive Emergency Medicine experience
  • Valid state medical license
  • DEA certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of emergency medicine experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Ability to work independently in a critical access setting

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Previous experience in rural or critical access hospitals
  • Additional certifications such as PALS or ATLS
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO)
  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) preferred
  • Prior experience working in emergency departments with varying shift lengths

Other Requirements:
  • Credentialing process completion within 45-60 days
  • Willingness to obtain licensing where applicable, especially IMLC
  • Ability to work night shifts consistently and reliably
