We are seeking a Board-Certified Physician to provide inpatient and emergency department coverage as the sole on-site provider. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled physician comfortable managing low-volume emergency care, inpatient rounding, and skilled care in a rural critical access hospital environment.
Position Highlights
- Setting: Inpatient & Emergency Department
- Location: Iowa
- Model: Solo provider coverage for ED and Med/Surg
- Inpatient Responsibilities: Yes
- Outreach: No
- Telehealth: No
Team Structure
- Physicians: 2
- APPs: 1 (no supervision required)
- Staffing Support:
- 2 RNs
- 1 Paramedic
- Occasional CNA and NPN assistance
- Exam Rooms: 2 per provider
Clinical Details
- Procedures: Emergency care, inpatient care, and skilled care
- Daily Volumes:
- ER: ~3.6 patients/day
Med/Surg Census: ~1.4 patients/day
- Imaging: On-site medical imaging
- Lab & Pharmacy: On-site
- EMR: EPIC
Required Credentials
- Board Certified – Required
- Active Iowa Medical License – Required
