Inpatient Emergency Medicine locum assignment

Pay Rate: $250–$260/hr

8–10 shifts per month, 12-hour shifts

Ongoing role starting in December

Standard Emergency Medicine responsibilities
-
ER volume: ~10,000 annually
-
Average admissions: 1–2 daily (supported by Hospitalist)
-
No required procedures
-
EMR: Meditech
-
Support staff: 2 RNs + 1 CNA
-
No call coverage
-
Coverage need due to staffing transitions
Job Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive Emergency Medicine care in an inpatient ED setting
Manage patient evaluations, diagnostics, and treatment plans
Collaborate with Hospitalist for 1–2 daily admissions
Utilize Meditech EMR for documentation and charting
Work alongside 2 RNs and 1 CNA for patient support
Deliver care in a no-call environment
Perform standard EM duties (no required procedures)
Qualifications
Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
OR Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with ED experience
Active state license preferred; IMLC accepted with LOQ
ATLS preferred; CALS with trauma experience accepted
Clean malpractice history preferred
Must be available at time of name clear
Eligible for emergency privileges (no multi-facility credentialing required)
Working Hours
8–10 shifts per month
12-hour shifts
Ongoing assignment starting in December
No call or after-hours requirements
Skills
Strong clinical decision-making in an acute care environment
Ability to efficiently manage moderate ED volume (~10,000 annual visits)
Effective communication with nurses, hospitalists, and support staff
Proficiency with or willingness to learn Meditech EMR
Ability to work independently with limited required procedures
Adaptability and calm under pressure in emergency settings
