Job description Join a busy Level II trauma hospital in a vibrant city with excellent recreational opportunities, parks, museums, craft breweries, and restaurants. Position Details:

  • Coverage needed: 10–15 shifts per month
  • Physician preference: ABEM preferred; AOBEM or ABPS board-certified physicians with experience in busy trauma centers are also considered

Shift Options:

  • Day 1: 6a–2p
  • Day 2: 9a–5p
  • Mid Day 1: 1p–9p
  • Mid Day 2: 3p–11p
  • Evening: 6p–2a
  • Night: 10p–7a

Flexible scheduling available, including 12-hour shifts for weekends

Travel & Lodging:

  • Full expenses reimbursed, including flights, rental car, and lodging

Job Responsibilities

• ED volume: ~110 patients/day (~40,000/year)
• Support staff: RNs and CNAs

Qualifications

ABEM preferred; AOBEM or ABPS board-certified physicians with experience in busy trauma centers are also considered

Shift Options (24-hour coverage):
• Day 1: 6a–2p
• Day 2: 9a–5p
• Mid Day 1: 1p–9p
• Mid Day 2: 3p–11p
• Evening: 6p–2a
• Night: 10p–7a
Flexible scheduling available, including 12-hour shifts for weekends

Skills

Rapid Assessment & Decision-Making – Quickly evaluating patients and determining the severity of illness or injury.

Trauma & Critical Care Management – Stabilizing critically ill or injured patients, including airway management and resuscitation.

Procedural Skills – Performing procedures such as intubation, central line placement, suturing, and chest tube insertion.

Multitasking & Time Management – Managing multiple patients and prioritizing care in a fast-paced environment.

Communication & Teamwork – Effectively coordinating with nurses, specialists, and support staff while clearly communicating with patients and families
