We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to provide locum services in Lake City, FL. This is an excellent opportunity for a nocturnist seeking consistent scheduling in a high-volume acute care setting with short-term flexibility and potential for contract extension. Coverage is needed beginning February 2026, with a 3-month contract and option to extend.
🏥 Job Details:
Setting: Acute care hospital with affiliated freestanding emergency departments (FSEDs)
Annual ED Volume: Approximately 30 daily admissions; 2 patients/hour
Schedule: 10–12 shifts/month; 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a or 6p–6a); no call required
Coverage: Scheduled shifts only; no ICU rounding
Support Services: Orientation includes EMR training and two shadow shifts
📋 Requirements:
Board Certification: ABEM/ABOEM preferred; FM/IM physicians with Emergency Medicine experience considered
License: Active FL license required; IMLC accepted
Procedural Skills: Must be proficient in intubation, central lines, and chest tubes
Credentialing Timeframe: Minimum 90 days; name clear process required
Additional Notes: Provider must be willing to work at affiliated FSEDs; no local candidates (must reside 50+ miles away)
