We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to provide locum services in Hampton, VA. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician looking for flexible night coverage in a multi-site float pool with long-term potential. Coverage is needed beginning December 2025
🏥 Job Details:
Setting: Multi-site float pool including Certified Stroke Centers and Free Standing EDs
Annual ED Volume: Ranges from 31,000 to 63,000 visits
Schedule: Night shifts only; 12-hour shifts ranging from 7:00 PM–7:00 AM and 8:30 PM–6:00 AM
Minimum Coverage: 3–4 night shifts per month
Support Services: Access to OB, interventional cardiology, vascular, GI, surgery, ortho (hand/spine), neurosurgery (2–3 days/week), nephrology, hematology/oncology, urology, pulmonary/critical care, and podiatry
EMR System: Epic
📋 Requirements:
Board Certification: ABEM or AOBEM required; no alternate boards accepted
Residency Training: Emergency Medicine residency required
License: Active Virginia license required; MD and DC reciprocity accepted
Certifications: ACLS required (if requesting moderate sedation); 24 months of CME documentation required
Procedural Skills: Must be comfortable with standard emergency procedures
Credentialing Timeframe: 90–120 days; name clear process and two references required (one must be a recent supervisor)
