Optigy is seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum opportunity in Jefferson, IA. This is a low-volume emergency department with approximately 3,000 annual visits (about 8 patients per day). The role offers flexible scheduling with 12-hour day and night shifts, and a streamlined credentialing process for clean files.

• Active Iowa medical license and DEA

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine (ABEM, ABFM, ABIM, or osteopathic equivalents)

• If FM/IM boarded, must maintain ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications at all times

• Must be willing to work both day and night shifts

• Clean file required to qualify for temporary privileges

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care in a rural, community-based environment

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries across all age groups

• Work independently as the sole physician on duty (no APP coverage)

• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in high-quality, evidence-based care delivery

• Communicate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare team members

• Start Date: December 22, 2025

• Schedule: 7a7p and 7p7a daily

• Annual ED Volume: ~3,000 (average 8 patients/day)

• On-call: None

• Telehealth: No
