  • Phone Consults: As Needed
  • Case Mix: General Emergency Medicine

FACILITY INFORMATION
  • Trauma Level: Level II (typical for regional facility; confirm if different)
  • Specialty Backup Available: Yes Multiple Specialties
  • Support Staff Available: RNs, APPs, and Allied Health Staff
  • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
  • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

  • Credentialing Timeline: TBD (standard emergency medicine credentialing range 3090 days)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Full scope of Emergency Medicine procedures
  • ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications required (ATLS current not required for ABEM-certified physicians)
  • Annual requirement: 9 hours of Stroke CME and 9 hours of Trauma CME

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Licenses: Active Texas Medical License and DEA (with TX address)
  • Board: Board Certified in ABEM, ABFM, or ABIM (or osteopathic equivalents)
  • Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required
  • Experience: Residency trained in Emergency Medicine or relevant specialty
  • Other Qualifications: CME and case logs for past 2 years; copies of all diplomas, SS card, driver's license, and photo required for MSO submission

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide comprehensive emergency medical care for patients presenting to the ED
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions in an emergency setting
  • Coordinate with nursing and support staff for efficient patient throughput
  • Document all encounters accurately within the EMR system
  • Participate in emergency response and trauma activations as required
