About the Opportunity:
Arc Health is actively seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Emergency Medicine Physician (ABEM) to provide high-quality emergency care at our partner facility in Shiprock, New Mexico. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver impactful care in a culturally rich, rural community while working within the Indian Health Service (IHS) system.
Facility Overview:
The facility is a 69-bed medical center and the primary facility within the Shiprock Service Unit (SRSU)—the largest geographic service area within the Navajo Area Indian Health Service (NAIHS). NNMC serves a broad and diverse patient population and includes:

A 5-bed Intensive Care Unit

75 inpatient beds

A full medical staff of 50+ physicians

One of the highest patient volumes in the NAIHS
The Emergency Department is open 24/7 and serves patients of all ages. In 2021, NNMC's ED was designated a Level IV Trauma Center, increasing access to high-quality trauma care in a rural setting. The ED is also certified Peds Ready, ensuring emergency readiness for pediatric patients.

Job Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illnesses
Perform comprehensive examinations for adults and children
Participate in quality improvement/patient safety projects
Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care
Qualifications
ABEM board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine
Active, unrestricted medical license (Any state license accepted for IHS)
DEA license
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Previous experience in a rural or underserved setting is a plus
Strong communication skills and cultural humility
Has not had a lapse in clinical coverage <6 months
