COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Rate: Daily OT after 12 hours (based on differential); Weekly OT after 168 hours (based on fixed)
  • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES
  • Emergency medicine procedures consistent with ED practice
  • Stroke education (4 hours annually)
  • Trauma education (9 hours annually; 27 hours total in 3-year survey period)
  • Required life support certifications per service line

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Licenses: Active Texas Medical License
  • Board: Board Certified preferred, Board Eligible accepted (confirmation of test date required)
  • DEA: Active DEA with Texas address
  • Certifications: ACLS, PALS, immunization compliance (Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Flu, TB with QuantiFERON or 2-step test)
  • Experience: Case logs from the past 24 months
  • Other Qualifications: Completed application, updated CV, government photo ID, DD214 (if military), education and training verification, ECFMG (if applicable), three peer references, chest X-ray if TB positive with questionnaire, CME logs (past 24 months)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide emergency department coverage for assigned shifts
  • Manage acute care, trauma, and stroke cases in ED setting
  • Ensure compliance with CME, credentialing, and immunization requirements
  • Collaborate with APPs and multidisciplinary teams to deliver timely patient care
  • Document care accurately in EMR system (EPIC)
