Job description

The Opportunity

A community hospital in one of Riverside County's fastest-growing towns, running roughly two patients an hour with APP support during peak hours. Twelve-hour shifts, flexible scheduling, and a department small enough that you know everyone's name. Menifee itself is newer housing, young families and open country, with Temecula and the wineries a short drive away — Southern California without the Southern California price.

What You'll Own

  • The department at roughly two patients an hour, with APP support during peak hours.
  • Flexible scheduling — this is called out in the recruitment materials because it is genuinely the case here.
  • A broad community case mix in a rapidly growing catchment.
  • Stabilize-and-transfer decisions. No neurosurgery or cardiothoracic surgery on site.

Must-Haves

  • MD or DO
  • Active California license
  • Comfort as primary physician coverage in a community ED

Nice to Have

  • ABEM or AOBEM certification
  • Community or critical-access experience
  • Paragon familiarity

What Working Here Is Actually Like

  • $285,000–$320,000 annually at full-time volume, independent contractor.
  • Paragon with ambient AI dictation — the note is largely written by the time the encounter ends.
  • Malpractice and tail both covered. Tail is the one people forget to ask about until they leave.
  • Flexible scheduling, built into how this site staffs rather than promised and withdrawn.
  • Physician-owned and physician-managed since 2012. When you escalate a problem, it reaches a physician who still works clinical shifts.
  • Not a locums agency. An ongoing program position with a named, stable team.
  • Riverside County at a livable cost. Newer housing, family-oriented neighborhoods, Temecula and outdoor recreation nearby.

Straight Talk

Coverage here has been described as single-physician in some of our own materials and as APP-supported in others — ask us directly what the current grid looks like before you commit, because it changes the job substantially. We'd rather you hear the real answer than the recruiting version. One practical warning: California does not participate in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, so if you are licensing in from another state, start that process now — it is the long pole in every California hire we make, and it is the single most common reason a good candidate and a good job miss each other.

About Inhospital Physicians (IHP): IHP is a physician-owned and physician-managed group, headquartered in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania and operating since 2012, running Emergency Medicine, Hospitalist, Intensivist and post-acute programs for acute-care hospitals, LTACHs and health systems across multiple states. IHP is not a locums agency; these are ongoing program positions with stable, named teams.
