Job description Locums – Altoona, Pennsylvania – Emergency Medicine Physician Job

Clinical Role:

  • Locum tenens opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician

  • Must have completed an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency

  • Must be Stroke Certified

  • Coverage at two facilities, approximately 40 minutes apart

  • Expected need: ~5 shifts/month

Shift Options:

  • 6a–4p

  • 8a–6p

  • 11a–9p

  • 1p–11p

  • 3p–1a

  • 5p–3a

  • 9p–7a

Facility Details:

  • Annual ED volume: ~45,000

  • Avg volume per 24 hrs: ~137

  • No vent management

  • EMR: Cerner

  • Procedures include:

  • Intubation

  • Chest tubes

  • Central lines

  • Joint/fracture reductions

  • Joint aspirations

  • Laceration repair

  • Incision & drainage (I&D)

  • And other procedures within EM-trained scope
