Emergency Medicine Opportunity in Shenandoah, IA
We are seeking a Physician to provide emergency department and general care services in Shenandoah, Iowa. This is a full-time, on-site position in a rural healthcare setting, offering a broad scope of clinical responsibilities.
Position Highlights:
Assess overall health status of patients through history, physical exams, and diagnostic testing
Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop care plans, and implement treatments
Provide prenatal, postnatal, and minor surgical care
Maintain accurate and timely medical records for all patient encounters
Educate patients and families on wellness, prevention, and chronic condition management
Prescribe medications in accordance with Iowa statutes and professional practice guidelines
Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, allied health professionals, and administrative staff
Participate in inpatient attending coverage, consultations, and coding audits as required
Promote patient and staff safety, including infection control measures
Schedule:
Full-time, on-site schedule with potential for flexible hours based on patient volume
Requirements:
Physician licensed to practice in Iowa
Previous experience in a rural healthcare setting preferred
Strong clinical knowledge in emergency and general medicine
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
Competent in managing acute, chronic, and preventive healthcare needs
