🩺 Locum Emergency Medicine Physician – Meigs, OH (Holzer Health System) |RT|

Start Date: As soon as credentialed (approx. 45–60 days)
Location: Meigs ED – Freestanding Emergency Department (Holzer Health System)
Hourly rate: $350/hr (malpractice included)

📋 Position Overview

Holzer Health System is seeking Board Certified IM/FM physicians to provide Emergency Medicine locum coverage at Meigs ED, a freestanding emergency department averaging 25–35 patients/day. Physicians will work alongside APP support and provide full-spectrum emergency care.

🏥 Emergency Department Details

• Coverage Model:

  • 24-hour physician coverage (8a–8p & 8p–8a)

  • APP support: 12p–12a daily

• Admissions: Not handled at Meigs ED. All admissions are transferred to Gallipolis main site.

• Trauma: No trauma designation; trauma cases transferred to tertiary centers.

• Responsibilities:

  • Manage own documentation

  • Oversee and respond to ED codes

  • Collaborate with APPs and hospitalist team (via transfers)

✅ Requirements

• Board Certification: ABMS/AOA – Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (Required, no exceptions)

• Licensure: Active Ohio license or IMLC (with LOQ proof within 3 business days of acceptance)

• Certifications (Required): ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS, NRP

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of recent Emergency Medicine experience

• Other Requirements:

  • Must be available for nights and weekends

  • Must include malpractice in hourly rate ($350/hr)

  • COVID-19 Vaccination (Required)

• Medical Staff fees not reimbursed
  

• Travel must be booked through OVP

• No overtime (OT) available

• Name-clear process not official until client reviews full candidate presentation

• Candidates should be submitted for all 3 Holzer sites: Meigs, Jackson, and Gallipolis
