Overview:
A high-volume Level 3 Trauma Center in Missouri is seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physician for ongoing locum tenens coverage starting late September. This is a no-call position with both day and night shifts available and consistent monthly scheduling needs.
Schedule & Coverage Needs:

Start Date: September 29, 2025

Ongoing Need: 6 shifts/month minimum

Shift Times: 12-hour shifts (8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m.)

Night Coverage: 6 night shifts/month (8:00 p.m.–8:00 a.m.) beginning in October

Expanded Coverage (October onward): 15–20 day shifts/month available
Facility Details:

Trauma Level: Level 3 – high acuity and volume

Average Daily Volume: 60+ patients (peaks of 70+)

Patient Demographic: All ages
-
Support Staff: On-site nurses, techs, and 12 hours of daily APP coverage

Physician Support: One additional EM physician on duty at all times

EMR: Meditech Expanse
Requirements:
-
Board Certification: Required – must be Board Certified in Emergency Medicine

Licensure: Missouri license required
-
Certifications: BLS, ACLS; ATLS required if not EM-trained

DEA & BNDD: Must hold both MO DEA and MO BNDD

Experience: Open to all BC physicians; no late-career or out-of-retirement candidates

Vaccination: COVID vaccination required unless exempt

Standard timeframe: 45–60 days
