Job description

Job description Lead and advance a robust research and QI program for EM residents and faculty in one of the most high-volume and innovative public hospital systems in the country. This is a fully and continuously accredited, three-year, EM residency in its sixth year with 10 residents per class. Oversee research curriculum, operations, and faculty development, ensuring alignment with ACGME standards, clinical excellence, and institutional mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the research curriculum for all PGY levels, tailoring education to resident needs
  • Lead and mentor a team of core faculty dedicated to research advancement
  • Assure that the training program exceeds ACGME standards and scholarly activity requirements for residents and faculty
  • Drive interdisciplinary and inter-professional research efforts, collaborating with other departments and training programs
  • Lead and support research, quality improvement, and national-level scholarly activity
  • Enthusiastically contribute as EM Core Faculty to resident education
  • Serve on Clinical Competency and Program Evaluation Committees; utilize research for resident assessment and program development
  • Promote innovation and creative expansion in research and medical education in our residency program
  • Memorial Healthcare System is one of the nation's largest public health systems

Our residents train at 3 major sites of the Memorial Healthcare System:
  • Memorial Regional: Level 1 Trauma center with 90,000 ED visits
  • Joe DiMaggio: Our own world class pediatric hospital with an incredible 75,000 ED visits.
  • Memorial West: 100,000 + visits to our high acuity Community Hospital ED

  • Passion for resident education and research
  • Demonstrated outstanding academic productivity in the field of EM research
  • Excellent mentorship, communication, management, and team-building skills
  • Eligibility for Florida licensure
