Position specific questions
Must be ABEM
· Do we have a PAWS request and approval for this need? No
· Reason for the need? 2 FTE MD positions vacant
· When would the provider need to start? ASAP
· Duration of need? Minimum of 3 months, likely 6-9 months
· What’s the schedule? On-site, call coverage, weekends, nights
o Are there specific dates needed? No
o If call is involved, what is call volume? How often do they get called back on-site? No call
o Call/Rotation schedule? No Call, standard ED schedule
· Will they take an APP (or SFA when applicable)? No
Candidate Parameters
· Any specific fellowships/ certifications/ procedures/ competencies we are looking for? ABEM required
· Experience level? No requirement, would suggest min 3 years experience
Credentialing questions:
· Will emergency privileges be an option? Yes
· Are case logs needed? If so, what are the requirements? No case log requirements
Hospital/unit questions
· How many daily admissions? 28
· Trauma center? Types of cases? Acuity? Level 3 trauma designation
· What does the support staff look like? ED RN Fully staffed
· How will follow up cases be handled? (when applicable- inpatient or outpatient)
Credentialing questions
· Will we do emergency privs or temps? Yes
· Orientation done on first day of assignment or prior? First day of assignment

Emergency Medicine
· What are the shift times? 6a-2p, 9a-6p,1p-10p,3p-11p,4p-10p,9p-6a
· Is call involved? No
· What procedures are required? ACLS and ATLS procedures.
· What does the support staff include? 32 hours of APP coverage per day
· What is the average patient census? 130 pts/day
- What are the most common cases the locum will see? C/P, Abd Pain, AMS
- Does the unit use robots? If so, what kind? Tele Psych and Tele-neurology
· How many EM physicians are typically on staff per shift? 2
